We at West End Stores & Melvich Post Office are committed to protecting the personal data & privacy of all visitors to our website. We will outline what personal data we collect, how the data is collected, & how this data is used.

The Data We Collect:

1. Visitor Analytics

Visitor Analytics is a simple website analytics service that measures traffic on our website & collects general information from our website visitors. We create statistics to improve the experience of our website visitors. We never use cookies for this purpose.

As a website operator using Visitor Analytics to conduct reach measurement, depending on the level of data protection we have activated, we may process information about the device you are using & its characteristics, information about technical characteristics of the website visit, the number of page visits & statistically relevant behaviour of our website visitors. The technology does not use the collected data to identify individual visitors or to match the data with additional information about an individual user.

Depending on the location from which you access our website, Visitor Analytics may not collect any information about the device you are using due to our technical settings.

2. Subscribing to our Newsletter

When a visitor to our website submits their email address through the "Subscribe to our Newsletter" field at the bottom of our webpages or ticks the opt-in box on the "Contact" form, their email address is automatically added to our mailing list & labelled "Subscriber". Users have the right to unsubscribe at any time & can do so by clicking on the link provided at the bottom of any emails received from West End Stores & Melvich Post Office, or by contacting us directly at the address or phone number displayed at the top of this page & we will remove the user from our mailing list.

3. Contact us form

When a visitor to our website submits a message via the Contact form on our website's "Contact" page, personal information (including name & email address) will be collected & stored in our private message inbox. Unless the opt-in box has been ticked, we will delete any messages & sender's details once we have dealt with the message (e.g. answer an enquiry). Your information will be kept securely in password locked cloud systems & only accessed by our data controller. Your information will be deleted either on your request or at a time when your information is no longer required; either when we no longer send out Newsletters or promotional material, or when we have addressed your enquiry or request.

Why We Collect This Data:

We collect non-personal data (e.g. visitor analytics) so we can monitor how visitors are interacting with our website. This then informs us of changes or improvements needed to be made to our website.

We also collect personal data (e.g. email address & name) so we are able to respond to any messages or enquiries, & send out Newsletters or promotional material. By submitting your details (e.g. name, email address), either through the Contact form or subscribing to our Newsletter & email updates, you give us your consent to process your data as outlined in this Privacy Notice. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to remove your consent at any time & this can be done by contacting Paul Barrett at West End Stores. West End Stores & Melvich Post Office use the services of wix.com to act as a "host" for our website, which includes the domain name "wesmpo.com", email services related to "contact@wesmpo.com", & marketing services such as Newsletters.
